Great snakes! 4.3m-long cobra slithers into prayer goods shop


GEORGE TOWN: A shop selling prayer goods in Paya Terubong here received an uninvited "customer" in the form of a 4.3m-long King Cobra.

Northeast district Civil Defence Force officer Kapt (PA) Muhammad Aizat Abd Ghani said they received a distress call from the shopkeeper about the snake at 1.20pm on Friday (Dec 15).

"Five firemen were dispatched to the location," he said.

The operation to capture the cobra was recorded in a 45-second video.

The snake was sent to the Civil Defence Force headquarters for the next course of action.

The operation was completed successfully and no one was injured in the process.
