New Cabinet colleagues capable and trustworthy, says DPMs


PETALING JAYA: The Cabinet’s new faces are dedicated, capable and trustworthy individuals who would be able to deliver on the unity government’s promises, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“I would like to extend my congratulations to all the newly-appointed leaders who have taken their oath of office as Cabinet members before His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong today,” said Zahid, who retained his Rural and Regional Development portfolio.

“I am confident that these new leaders can provide the best, trustworthy and dedicated service throughout their tenure,” the Bagan Datuk MP wrote on his Instagram account yesterday.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof was confident that the new Cabinet will strengthen the federal administration and country’s economy.

“The appointment of new authoritative faces, the creation of new ministries, the reorganisation of duties in existing ministries and the exchange of portfolios will drive every plan or agenda prepared by the Madani government for the well-being of the people.”

Aside from retaining his position as Deputy Prime Minister, Fadillah was also appointed to helm the newly-created portfolio of Energy Transition and Public Utilities. He is also tasked with overseeing matters related to Sabah and Sarawak.

“In considering the Cabinet reshuffle, the interests of the country and stable politics are the Prime Minister’s priority. For us to stimulate and strengthen the economy, we need stable politics and investment,” he said.

Fadillah added that he will continue to resolve outstanding issues related to MA63 and bridge the physical, economic and social gap between Sarawak and Sabah and the Peninsula.

“Regardless of race, religion and political beliefs, hopefully we can build a stable, advanced and prosperous Madani Malaysia together, based on the Federal Constitution and Rukun Negara principles,” he said.

MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said appointments in the new cabinet line-up comes with great responsibilities.

While congratulating the newly-appointed minister and deputy ministers, Dr Wee who is the Ayer Hitam MP, said the cabinet members have a big responsibility to ensure the well-being of Malaysians.

“Congratulations to the newly-appointed Ministers and Deputy Ministers. These appointments carry the great responsibilities of ensuring the well-being and prosperity of our country.

“Best wishes to the new Cabinet as it brings new hope to overcoming the challenges before us,” he wrote on Facebook.
