Cops investigating prostitution claims in Genting Highlands

GENTING HIGHLANDS: Police are investigating claims from a viral video that prostitution services are being offered here.

A TikTok user took to the social media platform to recall his experience of being offered such services during one of his visits there.

Bentong OCPD Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar urged the man to come forward to help them with their investigation.

"So far, no report has been lodged on the matter, but we are aware of the social media post made about this incident.

"There have also been no reports lodged on any prostitution activities offered at the resorts there," he said when contacted on Monday (Dec 4).

He said even though no reports have been lodged so far, they would open a probe on the matter.

"We do not condone nor tolerate any form of illegal activities offered here.

"Let this be a warning to those intentionally breaking the law. We will not hesitate to take stern action," he said.

In a post he made on Wednesday (Nov 28), the Tiktok user claimed he was approached by a man when he was at one of the tourist destinations in Genting Highlands.

The man discreetly tried to hand him a card with a scantily clad woman on it that also contained contact numbers.

The man also told him that they charged by the hour.

He described the man as a foreigner who went around with a sling bag carrying a stack of cards.

Those with information on the case or similar services offered can contact the Bentong Police Hotline at 09-222 2222 or go to the nearest police station.
