Kluang cops nab 54-year-old man over indecent act on motorcycle


KLUANG: The police have arrested a 54-year-old man after a video of him committing an indecent act in a public place went viral on social media.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Nor said the man, a local, was arrested at about 1.30pm on Wednesday (Nov 29) in Ayer Hitam, Batu Pahat.

“A video of a man committing an indecent act while sitting on a motorcycle has been making the rounds on social media. The incident was believed to have happened in Simpang Renggam, Kluang.

“Following initial investigations, we managed to nab the suspect in Ayer Hitam to assist in the investigation.

“The case is being investigated under Section 377D of the Penal Code for gross indecency where if convicted, he could be jailed for up to two years,” he said in a statement on Friday (Dec 1).

ACP Bahrin added that the suspect, who tested negative for drugs, has one drug-related offence on his criminal record.

“We urge those with information on the incident to reach out to the police,” he said, adding that the suspect is under remand until Sunday (Dec 3).

Earlier, a 41-second video of a man committing an obscene act while on a motorcycle and wearing a helmet made the rounds on social media.
