Video scandal: Wahab gives statement to Bukit Aman, verifies identity of 'Mr H'

KUALA LUMPUR: Community Communications Department (J-Kom) assistant officer Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani has verified the identity of "Mr H".

His lawyer Faizal Rahman said Mr H also holds a position within J-Kom.

"Abdul Wahab had a statement recorded at Bukit Aman this morning (Wednesday, Nov 29).

"He entered Bukit Aman at 11am and came out at around 2.30pm.

"He was not ready to speak to reporters so he instructed me to speak on his behalf," he said when met outside the Bukit Aman main entrance.

He said his client confirmed the identity of Mr H to police investigators.

"Based on this, we believe that our part is complete and we leave it to the police.

"My client is still scared but is in stable condition. He is also still on medication for depression," he added.

Faizal said Abdul Wahab is expected to lodge a police report on Thursday (Nov 30).

Police were supposed to record Abdul Wahab’s statement on Sunday (Nov 26) but the appointment was cancelled as he was said to be suffering from severe depression.

The questioning is in connection with a viral video depicting former J-Kom director Dr Mohammad Agus Yusoff supposedly having an indecent conversation with a "Wahab".

Mohammad Agus has since claimed that the video was doctored to sabotage his reputation, and the person responsible was a high-ranking individual he called Mr H.

Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain was quoted as saying that only Abdul Wahab could confirm the identity and role of Mr H in connection with the viral video.

He said while police had already recorded the statement of the man believed to be Mr H, his identity could not be verified until Abdul Wahab came forward.

"If Abdul Wahab can identify him and reveal his role in the incident, then we can positively identify Mr H," Comm Mohd Shuhaily had said.
