Probe done, teen in viral knife attack video out on police bail


PETALING JAYA: The investigation of an attempted robbery case by a 13-year-old boy has been completed and the teenager is now out on police bail.

Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Zaidy Che Hassan said the investigation paper will be submitted to the deputy public prosecutor for further action.

He added the teenager involved was remanded for a day to assist in the investigation and the remand period ended on Wednesday (Nov 29).

"We released him today (Wednesday) pending further decision from the DPP's office after completing the investigation paper," he told Malay daily Sinar Harian.

It was reported that an elderly ehailing driver fended off a knife attack by a male passenger during an incident in Taman Keladi on Monday (Nov 27).

The 65-year-old driver was reportedly unharmed after his attempt to snatch the knife and bite the attacker's hand caused the suspect to run away.

In a 1min, 32sec video which has gone viral on social media, a teenager is seen attacking the driver with a knife.

The incident is believed to have started at 5.43pm after the driver accepted a request to pick up passengers from Taman Keladi to Bandar Sri Astana.
