KUCHING: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has credited Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for their support of the unity government and contributing to political stability.

"Today is one year of the unity government.

"We can talk about energy transition, digital transformation and a vibrant economy because we are politically stable.

"I cannot ignore the fact that the Premier and GPS played a vital role in this," he said at the Global Muslim Business Forum's gala dinner here on Tuesday (Nov 28) night.

Last November, GPS gave its backing to the unity government to be formed by Anwar after the 15th general election.

This was in keeping with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's decree for a unity government to be formed.

Anwar also said the unity government now had more than two-thirds majority in Parliament.

"There was some minor turbulence in the last year but now we are politically stable to focus on the economy," he said, adding that this was an occasion to celebrate.
