Police report on death threat to PM lodged

PUTRAJAYA: A police report has been lodged against an individual who issued a RM5mil bounty via a TikTok video to assassinate Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The report was lodged by Mohamad Shazrin Ezam Mohd Saidi at the Presint 7 police station here yesterday. The video in question has since been deleted.

The political secretary to the Finance Minister Kamil Munim said PKR Youth had enlisted one of their members from the Putrajaya branch to file the report.

He said the youth wing found out about the matter early yesterday.

As the party’s congress was under way, Kamil said the report was lodged at the nearest police station.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the PKR congress here yesterday, Kamil said such videos, which are fuelled by hatred, are detrimental to the country.

“We urge the police to immediately investigate and take the necessary action.”
