Come forward to confirm identity and role of 'Mr H', cops urge Abdul Wahab

KUALA LUMPUR: Only Community Communications Dept (J-Kom) assistant officer Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani (pic) can confirm the identity and role of "Mr H" in connection with the ongoing viral video scandal.

Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said while police have already recorded the statement of the man believed to be Mr H, his identity cannot be verified until Abdul Wahab comes forward.

"If Abdul Wahab can identify him and reveal his role in the incident, then we can positively identify Mr H.

"For now, we only have (former J-Kom director) Dr Mohammad Agus Yusoff's statement (naming Mr H)," he told a press conference in Bukit Aman here on Friday (Nov 24).

The viral video shows a man looking like Mohammad Agus having an indecent conversation with another man named “Wahab".

Comm Mohd Shuhaily said so far, police have recorded the statements of Mohammad Agus, activist Badrul Hisham Shaharin or "Chegubard", the alleged Mr H, and a worker at the hotel in Bangi where a press conference was held on Nov 17.

"We urge Abdul Wahab to come forward as soon as possible.

"We tried to get a hold of him through his lawyer. We said if there are any security concerns, we will ensure Abdul Wahab's safety," he said.

Asked about talk that Abdul Wahab had been threatened, Comm Mohd Shuhaily said no police reports have been lodged about this.

It was previously reported that police recorded Mr H's statement on Thursday (Nov 23).

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain previously said the individual was identified based on information given by Mohammad Agus.

Mr H is said to be a high-ranking individual behind the video, and his purported identity was given to the police by Mohammad Agus on Monday (Nov 20)

Mohammad Agus also lodged a police report at Kajang police headquarters on Nov 17.

During a press conference that day, Mohammad Agus described the video as an internal conspiracy to sabotage his career and reputation and claimed the clip had been doctored.

Abdul Wahab, who was also at the press conference, claimed that the video was created by an individual he called Mr H, who wanted to sabotage Mohammad Agus.
