Regatta Lepa recognised as a celebration to promote Sabah


Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew (middle, shaking hands) represented Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor at the opening of Regatta Lepa celebration at Dataran Lepa in Semporna on Friday night.

KOTA KINABALU: The Regatta Lepa celebration in Semporna is among the programmes identified to promote Sabah as a tourism and cultural destination in this region.

The event, which takes place on Nov 18 and 19, is a water festival that pays tribute to the nomadic community of Bajau Laut, with a focus on activities surrounding their traditional “lepa” boats.
