Dr Wee asks Malaysians to donate to Palestine humanitarian fund

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has asked Malaysians to contribute funds to assist Palestinians in Gaza.

"As MCA president, a Malaysian and a non-Muslim, I strongly appeal to Malaysians regardless of race and religion – let us all help fill the humanitarian fund to save Palestinians in Gaza," he said in a video posted on Facebook and TikTok.

He said it was heartbreaking to see what the people in Gaza have to endure.

"Hospitals have been destroyed. There is no access to food or even basic needs such as water.

"These people live in challenging conditions, which is likened to 'the biggest open-air prison in the world'," he said.

He said as humans, it was natural to help those who are suffering.

Those interested can make donations through the Akaun Amanah Kemanusiaan Rakyat Palestin (Foreign Affairs Ministry) CIMB bank account (86-0030248-9), Mercy Malaysia's Maybank account (5642-5858-7606) or, the Tabung Kemanusiaan Palestin Media Prima Bank Muamalat account (1401-0008-844715) or through its Maybank account (5642 7651 0331).
