A WOMAN caused a scene at a fruit shop after her demand to use three seeds in exchange for a whole durian was rejected, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The consumer, from China’s Anhui province, claimed that the fruit was not tasty and her son had stomach problem after eating it.

According to the trader, the woman bought a durian from his shop on Oct 29, but returned soon with three seeds and asked him to replace them with a whole fruit.

When her demand was rejected, she refused to leave and caused a commotion, forcing the trader to call the police.

She left after her son arrived and convinced her to go home.

After the news went viral on social media, netizens shared their similar stories.

One of them said a friend’s father, who ordered a beef hotpot online, finished the food and went to the eatery with an empty pot to ask for a refund, claiming that he was given pork and not beef.

> The daily also reported on Malaysian filmmaker Chong Keat Aun talking about the process of shooting his second feature-length movie, the Snow in Midsummer.

“It was no easy job. It all started with a mass burial ground,” said the award-winning director.

Chong was referring to a mass grave burying victims of the May 13 racial riot he ”discovered” in the Klang Valley, which later became the impetus for making the film.

The film about the aftermath of the incident in 1969 premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in Italy on Sept 4.

It was also nominated at Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards for Best Director, Best Feature Film, Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Original Soundtrack, Best Original Film Song, Best Sound Effects as well as Best Makeup and Costume categories.

Due to the film’s sensitivity, Chong had expressed concern if it would pass the Malaysian Film Censorship Board.

In 2020, he bagged the Best Director title at the Golden Horse Awards for his first feature film, the Story of Southern Islet, which tells the story of a woman’s quest to find a cure for her husband, whom she thought was cursed by black magic.
