How sweet is too sweet? Health Ministry launches campaign to cut sugar consumption


PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry has launched the Sugar Reduction Advocacy Campaign 2023 here on Sunday (Oct 29) to encourage Malaysians to reduce sugar intake as diabetes plagues the health of many in the country.

According to the 2019 Malaysia National Health and Morbidity Survey (NHMS), at least one in every two Malaysian adults is overweight or obese while one-fifth of Malaysian adults suffer from diabetes.
