‘Protect the civilians’

KUALA LUMPUR: The All-Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia (APPGM) on Refugee Policy has called for an immediate ceasefire and the urgent protection of civilians in Gaza, Palestine.

Its chairman Syerleena Abdul Rashid, who is also the Bukit Bendera MP, said war has no winners and the biggest victims are always innocent civilians.

“Our core values as Malaysians – solidarity, compassion and humanity – compel us to stand now with the people of Gaza,” she told a press conference at the Media Centre in Parliament yesterday, as reported by Bernama.

Syerleena said the international community must actively intervene to prevent the exacerbation of aggression and crimes against humanity.

She said the APPGM on Refugee Policy also urged the international community to rally together.
