Budget 2024: Taking care of small businesses


PETALING JAYA: The government will take steps to ensure the welfare of hawkers and traders as well as the comfort and satisfaction of customers.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (pic), in his Budget 2024 speech on Friday (Oct 13) announced a RM110mil allocation to revitalise 150 local authority areas, which include repairing and upgrading the deteriorating hawker centres and public market infrastructure.

RM10mil has been allocated to enhance the aesthetics and cleanliness of 10,000 stalls and small businesses while RM50mil is to build 4,000 units of new commercial space.
