Ops Dadu Khas: 12 more nabbed for gambling

JOHOR BARU: A dozen people have been detained in the ongoing anti-gambling and illegal lottery Ops Dadu Khas in Johor.

State police chief Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the latest arrests were made following inspections at 11 premises on Thursday (Oct 5).

Those nabbed were 12 men including a foreigner, aged between 19 and 62, he said.

"Police also seized 11 mobile phones, six mobile printers and cash amounting to RM1,257 in the operation," he said in a statement on Friday (Oct 6).

Since the operation was launched on Sept 22, Comm Kamarul Zaman said a total of 307 people - 257 men and 50 women, aged between 18 and 66 - had been arrested throughout the state.

All of them were being investigated under Sections 4A(a) and 4B(a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953, he added.

He said police had also confiscated a total of 317 mobile phones, 124 mobile printers and RM54,608 cash.
