Fire destroys warehouse in Inanam, KK

KOTA KINABALU: A warehouse storing various items, including secondhand clothes, was destroyed in a blaze that broke out on Tuesday (Oct 3) in Inanam.

The Fire and Rescue Department was initially alerted of the incident at Jalan Kionsom, Kampung Tatahan, at 1.16pm.

“No one was injured, but the depot was 100% burnt down.

“Five owners stored their merchandise there: a carpet and secondhand clothes owner, another used clothes owner, a furniture owner, a hardware store owner and a car spare parts seller.

“The team from Lintas fire station was assisted by the Kota Kinabalu fire station team as well as the police,” said the Department spokesman.

The operation was under control at 3.33pm and the team proceeded to clear any remaining embers before ending the operation at 8.01pm, the spokesman added.
