GEORGE TOWN: A total of 23 couples exchanged their vows at a mass wedding on the occasion of the auspicious Mid-Autumn Festival at the Penang Chinese Town Hall here.

The couples arrived on Friday (Sept 29) morning dressed in a range of attire and colours, apart from traditional white bridal dresses and black suits.

Accompanied by their parents, friends and family members, they posed together for photographs on their special day.

Gracing the event were Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, Penang National Registration Department deputy director Awangku Iswandy Awangku Serma and state Chinese Town Hall chairman Tan Sri Tan Khoon Hai.

The ceremony was also held in conjunction with National Registration Day, which falls on Oct 1 each year.
