KOTA KINABALU: A Sandakan homeowner found a huge snake inside his chicken coop on Tuesday (Sept 26).

Sandakan Civil Defence officer Sulaiman Salama said their officials arrived at the scene at Taman Mawar, around 6.57am to capture the three-metre long reptile which weighed a hefty 25kg.

"The python was taken out of the chicken coop safely and no one was injured in the operation," he said in a statement.

It is learnt that the snake was too full from his meal and did not put up much of a fight when civil defence officials captured it.
