Flood alert: 61 people from 18 families in Kubang Pasu evacuated


ALOR SETAR: Villagers along Sungai Padang Terap, Sungai Janing and Sungai Sari have been warned about the water in the rivers as they have risen over the yellow warning level.

With many areas still experiencing rainfall, several houses in Kampung Pokok Machang and Kampung Sena within the district were reported to have been flooded.

Meanwhile, a total of 61 people from 18 families in Kubang Pasu district have been evacuated to SMK Changlun.

In a statement, Kedah Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) said water levels were still increasing as of 9pm on Monday (Sept 25) after over eight hours of continuous rainfall.
