Search on for monk who sexually assaulted woman

SERDANG: The police are on the hunt for a foreign monk who had allegedly sexually assaulted a local woman in Puchong six years ago.

Serdang acting OCPD Supt Izuddin Ab Wabab said the woman, in her 30s, lodged a report on the incident last month.

“She alleged that the incident occurred in Puchong about six years ago.

“She was sexually assaulted in her own car,” he said in a statement, adding that the woman’s statement has been recorded to assist in the investigation.

“We are also looking for witnesses in the case.

“The suspect, in his 40s, has been identified and we are currently tracking him down,” he said.

The case is classified under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape and carries between five and 20 years’ jail and whipping upon conviction, he added.
