Dr Wee and wife cast votes for MCA polls

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong and his wife Datin Seri Jessica Lim have cast their votes for the national MCA elections.

Dr Wee is competing against former central committee member Tan Chong Seng for the post of MCA president.

In a Facebook post, Wee, who is the incumbent party president, posted a photo of himself and Lim placing their ballot papers in voting boxes.

He said party elections are being held at all MCA divisions between 2am and 7pm on Sunday (Sept 24).

"Happy voting. May both the voting and vote counting processes be carried out smoothly." he said.

After serving for over 30 years, Dr Wee stepped down as Johor party division head in June to make way for younger leaders.

He has served as MCA president since 2018.
