Candidate from PBB to be fielded in Jepak by-election

SIBU: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will field a candidate from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu Sarawak (PBB) in the Jepak state by-election, says Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

The Sarawak Premier was speaking after the ground-breaking ceremony for Phase One of the Sarawak Integrated Sour Gas Evacuation System (Sisges) for Shell's Rosmari-Marjoram Bintulu Onshore Gas Plant on Thursday (Sept 21).

The Jepak seat fell vacant following the Sept 15 passing of its assemblyman, PBB's Datuk Talib Zulpilip, aged 72.

The Election Commission will meet on Monday (Sept 25) to discuss key dates for the by-election.
