Machang MP wants special sitting on Zahid’s DNAA

PETALING JAYA: An emergency motion has been filed by Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal to hold a special Parliament sitting for the Attorney General to explain the decision to grant Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi a discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA).

He said the motion was sent to Parliament at 8.30am yesterday, where he requested the sitting be held on Sept 11, arguing that the Attorney General’s explanation was necessary as the issue involves public interest.

“It is also to uphold the integrity of the Federal Government and the law.

“Let’s spread the word so this motion will be considered by the Parliament Speaker,” Wan Ahmad Fayhsal said in a Facebook post yesterday.

Parliament is scheduled to sit for six days from Sept 11 to table the mid-term review of the 12th Malaysia Plan and subsequently debate it.

On Monday, the High Court granted a DNAA to Ahmad Zahid for all 47 graft charges involving Yayasan Akalbudi funds.
