Number of unemployed persons decreased in July 2023, says Stats Dept


PUTRAJAYA: The number of unemployed persons in July this year has decreased by 0.4 per cent to 579,200 persons compared to 581,700 persons last month, according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM).

Chief Statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin in a statement issued following the release of the Statistics of the Labour Force, Malaysia, July 2023, said the unemployment rate in July 2023 stood at 3.4 per cent, unchanged from the previous month.
