Murder probe under way after man found dead with gunshot wounds in Kapar


KLANG: A murder investigation has begun after a man was found dead with gunshot wounds in Kapar.

North Klang OCPD Asst Comm S. Vijaya Rao said the body was found on Wednesday (Aug 30) along Jalan Hamzah Alang 22/KU9.

Witnesses told police they had heard sounds of gunfire and that there had been a small traffic accident near the scene as well.

"The victim is 36 years old and was found to have 12 prior offences for extortion and drug-related crimes.

"We have also located several witnesses in the area. Efforts to gather more evidence and CCTV footage are under way to identify the suspect involved," ACP Vijaya Rao said on Thursday (Aug 31).

Videos of the gunshot victim had been circulating on social media, showing the man lying on the ground, as well as a wrecked motorcycle.
