State polls: Umno should be given the MB post in Negri, says Peja

SEREMBAN: Umno should get the Mentri Besar post in Negri Sembilan as they won the most seats, says Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia deputy president said Pakatan Harapan should offer the post to state Umno chief Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias based on the state polls results.

“In Negri Sembilan, Umno won the most seats. So Pakatan has to be gracious and offer the MB position to Pertang rep Datuk Jalaluddin for this victory. That is the spirit of unity,” he said while sending his congratulations to the Umno man in a Facebook post on Sunday (Aug 13).

Ahmad Faizal, better known as Peja, also noted that Umno lost badly in five other states.

“Umno members and supporters, do not be disappointed. As again, a vote for Umno gets you PKR and DAP," he added.

Yesterday (Aug 12), former Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin also said that the MB post should go to Jalaluddin should Umno win the lion’s share of the seats.

“It is who wins the most. If Barisan Nasional has more seats than Pakatan then Jalaluddin is the one that has to become the MB. That’s it, full stop,” he said.
