IPOH: Former Perak FC head coach Datuk Lim Teong Kim (pic) will file a wrongful dismissal case in the Industrial Court if the final mediation process fails at the Industrial Relations Department.

Lim said the final mediation has been fixed for before Aug 26, and he would wait and see if both parties can reach an agreement then.

“Our second meeting today (Thursday, Aug 3), failed to reach any agreement, and we will try once more during the next mediation process.

“If no agreement is reached (on that day), then I have no choice but to take the case to court.

“I hope (the matter doesn't) need to reach that stage and that we can come to some sort of agreement,” he told reporters after the mediation with Perak FC chief operating officer Meor Azli Meor Mahmood at the department on Thursday.

Also present were Lim’s lawyer Adam Yap Boon Han and Perak FC chief executive officer Bobie Farid Shamsuddin.

“Our second mediation has so far reached nothing, and we will follow the rules and come for the third meeting to see if there is anything that we can come to terms with," Yap told the media.

“But if that too fails, then the next best thing to do is to bring this case to the court for a decision."

Bobie Farid said he did not wish to comment too much.

“Lim has the right to do what he deems necessary or right. We stand our ground and will also do what we think is right.

“Of course, we are hoping that this matter can be resolved peacefully as well, but if he (Lim) brings the case to the court, we are ready for that too,” he added.

On June 27, Lim filed a complaint with the department for wrongful dismissal following the termination of his services on May 24.

In the complaint, he is asking for the remaining 16 months of his salary to be paid as he had only served eight months of his two-year contract.

Lim’s termination with immediate effect was announced by Perak FC on its Facebook account, and the team also announced that Under-23 trainer Yusri Che Lah would take over as the temporary head coach.

Lim had earlier asked for time for the team to settle down after their fourth defeat in a row in the Super League.

Perak lost to Pahang (0-3), Penang (1-3), Johor Darul Ta'zim (0-5) and Kuala Lumpur (0-1).

Lim is the third Super League coach after Kelantan’s Choi Moon-Sik and Kelantan United’s Tomas Trucha to get the boot.
