Bee-stung geologist rescued after 72 hours


KOTA KINABALU: An Indonesian geologist who sent out a distress call three days ago after he was stung by bees in the Sapulut forest reserve has been found safe by firemen.

The 24 year old was found about 3km from the Sapulut Sungai Ulu Pinangah Forest Reserve in Kinabatangan at about 10.30am yesterday, a Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said.The victim had used a satellite phone to make a distress call on July 31 after he was stung by bees while carrying out coal studies in the area with four other Indonesians aged between 22 and 33 in his survey group.
