‘Highly irresponsible, deeply disheartening’, M’sian Bar says of Dr M’s controversial claim

PETALING JAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s controversial claim that it is unconstitutional to promote a multiracial Malaysia is “highly irresponsible and deeply disheartening”, says the Malaysian Bar.

In a statement Thursday (July 6), the Malaysian Bar said it was shocked by the former prime minister’s claim, adding that it was not the first time he had recklessly “stirred the hornet’s nest” when touching on the issue of multiracialism in Malaysia.
