Electrical substation in Kampung Keramat catches fire, showering street with sparks

KUALA LUMPUR: A Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) substation caught fire as a result of repair works being done.

In a statement on Wednesday (July 5), the City Fire and Rescue Department said that sparks broke out after an electrical cable was hit with water when repair works were being conducted at the Mindef power processing units (PPU) substation in Kampung Datuk Keramat.

It is known that the fire was extinguished by the time a fire and rescue team reached the scene.

"No victims were involved. The cable is being repaired by TNB personnel," the statement said.
