Probe on ex-Navy SEAL completed

PETALING JAYA: Police have concluded their investigations into the former US Navy SEAL who was arrested for carrying unloaded gun magazines in his luggage.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed the matter when contacted yesterday.

“It has been completed. Tomorrow (Monday) it will be referred to the DPP (deputy public prosecutor) for any charges,” he said.

On Saturday, Comm Hussein said the American had been granted police bail but was not allowed to leave the country until investigations had been completed.

According to CBS Austin, US citizen and Navy veteran Ryan Bates was detained at a Malaysian airport on Thursday while attempting to return home to Henderson, Nevada.
