DAP veteran Ronnie Liu seeks termination of party membership

PETALING JAYA: DAP central executive council member Ronnie Liu has asked the party to terminate his membership effective Saturday (June 24).

The veteran DAP leader said in a letter posted on his Facebook page that he had been involved in the party for 41 years since he was in secondary school in 1982.

The Sungai Pelek assemblyman addressed the letter to DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke.

"However, too many things have happened since then, some of which were beyond my expectations.

"With this, I wish to end my membership effective June 24," he wrote.

He thanked the DAP and its leadership for the opportunity given to him and hoped the party would always keep to its concept of "Malaysia for Malaysians".

In a separate post, Liu said his heart remained with the Pakatan Harapan cause and that he continued to support PMX (Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) and the Malaysia Madani concept.
