KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional will make an announcement "soon" on the joining of some 10 Umno "warlords" into the Perikatan Nasional coalition, says Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

"God-willing, we are preparing to make the announcement soon. This is to adjust all the programmes that we have set," said the Perikatan secretary-general at the Parliament lobby on Monday (June 12).

On June 6, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) information chief Datuk Razali Idris said leaders that were sidelined by Umno are among those set to join Perikatan.

"Yes there are those who were sidelined by Umno," said Razali.

Asked on the latest developments on discussions between former Umno youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin and Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin to join the party, Hamzah said that the question would be better answered by Khairy.

"Let my president discuss it with him," said Hamzah.

Khairy is scheduled to meet Muhyiddin this week to discuss the possibility of him joining the party.

Khairy said this in the latest episode of his "Keluar Sekejap" podcast with Shahril Hamdan, adding that the meeting will be about his decision on the offer made by Muhyiddin recently.

He however did not elaborate on the meeting or the date of the meeting.

Aside from Khairy, other names that have been rumoured to join Perikatan include former Tanjung Karang MP Tan Sri Noh Omar.
