IPOH: A 22-year-old woman lodged a police report that she was molested by a man while travelling on an express bus.
Gerik OCPD Supt Zulkifli Mahmood said the woman lodged the report on Tuesday (June 6) at 3.11pm.
He said the woman claimed that she was touched by a man in his 20s who was seated at the back of her seat in the bus.
The bus was travelling from Seri Iskandar heading to Tanah Merah in Kelantan.
“The incident happened while the victim was asleep, and it only after some time that she realised that she was being touched.
“She lodged a report at the Banggol Judah police station in Kelantan.
“Initial investigations revealed that the incident happened when the bus was close to the Titiwangsa rest area near Gerik,” he added.
Supt Zulkifli said police were looking for the suspect, and anyone with information on the incident could contact the Gerik police headquarters at 05-791 2222, or the nearest police stations.
The case, he said, is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code.
