SEREMBAN: Datuk Mohd Zafir Ibrahim has been appointed the new Negri Sembilan state secretary replacing Datuk Seri Dr Razali Ab Malik who retired on Jan 6.

The 53-year-old Tampin-born signed his oath of secrecy on Wednesday morning (June 7) before Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun at Wisma Negri.

His appointment took effect on Tuesday (June 6).

Aminuddin expressed confidence that the experienced Mohd Zafir, who had among others served at the Finance Ministry previously, will be able to help steer the state economy to greater heights.

“I am confident that he will also be able to help the state government continue with its agenda for the peoples’ wellbeing and ensure the smooth operation of the state administration," he said.

Mohd Zafir thanked Aminuddin for the appointment and the trust placed in him.

Mohd Zafir graduated with an honours degree in Islamic Studies (Dakwah and Leadership) and a Master's in Information Technology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
