Body of man who tried to rescue two girls recovered


SEPANG: Police have recovered the body of a man who was swept away while trying to rescue two siblings in Sungai Sepang Kechil here.

Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said the body of Muhammad Faizal Mahasan, 29, was found near a resort around 9.30am yesterday.

“The body was sent to Hospital Serdang for post-mortem,” he said yesterday.

On Sunday, two siblings, aged seven and nine, drowned at Sungai Sepang Kechil here.

Muhammad Faizal managed to pull the elder sibling out of the water and went back for the younger girl.

But he was swept away and disappeared.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail said the elder girl died at the scene while her younger sister’s body was retrieved some 50m away.
