11 motorcyclists nabbed in Ipoh during special op


IPOH: A total of 11 motorcyclists have been arrested by police for various offences including riding the motorcycle carelessly and testing positive for drugs in Ipoh.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan said among those arrested were college students during a special operation from midnight to 6am at Jalan Pasir Puteh here on Sunday (June 4).

“The operation involved 258 individuals and 185 motorbikes. From the total, we seized 37 motorbikes and arrested 11 individuals aged 17 to 32.

“Eight of them, including two 17-year-old college students, were arrested for riding the bikes carelessly,” he said.

Comm Yahaya said the police also issued 391 traffic summonses for various offences.

“The remaining three individuals who were arrested after being tested positive for methamphetamine,” he said.
