Local man, three foreigners nabbed for misappropriating RM7,500 worth of diesel


SHAH ALAM: A local man and three foreigners have been arrested over alleged misappropriation of more than RM7,500 worth of subsidised diesel.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the suspects were detained after a team from the General Operations Force Battalion 4 raided a premises at Section 33 here on Friday (June 2).

Police raided the premises at around 5.30am based on intelligence gathered over the misappropriation of subsidised diesel, he added.

"The team arrested a lorry driver and three foreigners during the raid," he said in a statement on Saturday (June 3).

He said some 3,500 litres of diesel was seized, together with four lorries that had been modified in order to be used in the illegal activity.

"The suspects and the seized items have been handed over to the Selangor Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Department.

"The public must refrain from taking part in such activities as stern action will be taken against those caught," he said.
