SEREMBAN: Bersatu deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu (pic) has confirmed his appointment as Negri Sembilan Perikatan Nasional chairman with immediate effect.
He replaces former Kuala Pilah MP Datuk Eddin Syazlee Shith.
He said the move was among several measures to help with final preparations of the state election machinery ahead of the polls.
"Eddin Syazlee remains in the leadership structure. He has performed well.
"The current effort is to involve the central leadership to enhance and smooth the journey of the party machinery,” he said here on Friday (June 2).
However, Ahmad Faizal refused to comment on the reason behind Eddin Syazlee’s removal as state Perikatan chairman.
Eddin Syazlee said earlier that the move was a routine political matter and he remained committed to helping the party prepare for the upcoming state election. – Bernama
