KLANG: A man was killed after ramming his car into a lamp post at Taman Sentosa here on Wednesday (May 31).
The victim, Jeffrey Lim Chee Xuan, 21, died at the scene due to severe head and body injuries.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Hafisham Mohd Noor said the department received the distress call at 2.51am.
"Six personnel and an officer from Andalas fire station were deployed to the scene.
"The accident involved a Kia Forte. We believe the driver lost control of the vehicle before ramming the car into the lamp post," he said when contacted today.
The victim was unconscious and trapped in the car when firemen arrived at the scene, he added.
"We managed to pull him out within five minutes but the victim succumbed to his injuries.
"The body has been handed over to the police for further action," he said.
