Cops identify teens involved in Sg Siput brawl

IPOH: A police report has been lodged against a group of teenagers in Sungai Siput who were allegedly involved in a fight.

Sungai Siput OCPD Supt Mohd Khaizam Ahmad Shahbudin said police have identified those involved.

"The report was lodged at around 6.25pm on Monday (May 29).

"Based on our investigation, the fight started over a noise dispute," he said in a statement on Tuesday (May 30), adding that the group involved were revving their motorcycles loudly.

On Monday, Twitter user @pedoqpop uploaded several videos of the fight.

In one clip, a teenager is seen shouting at another before hitting him.

Supt Mohd Khaizam said no arrests have been made yet.

"Those involved are between 16 and 19 years old and the fight broke out near a field in Taman Muhibbah.

"We have started our investigation and we urge the public to stop speculating about the incident," he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code for committing affray, he added.
