KUALA LUMPUR: Six foreign men have been detained following a raid on a massage parlour which allegedly offered gay sex services.
Immigration Department director-general Datuk Ruslin Jusoh said a team of Immigration personnel and officers raided the premises in the city at about 7.15pm on Tuesday.
“We detained six foreign men who were working as masseurs, and the caretaker of the premises.
“Besides offering massages for men, the syndicate also provided gay sex services for male customers,” Ruslin said in a statement yesterday.
The detainees comprised five Indonesians and a Myanmar national aged between 26 and 38.
“One of the Indonesians detained was the caretaker of the premises, who was also called ‘Daddy’ by the workers.
“The suspects committed various offences including not possessing valid travel documents, expired social visit passes, and misuse of passes,” he said.
Ruslin said the syndicate operated at a two-storey building, using the first floor for massages and the second floor as workers quarters.
“We believe they have been operating since last year.
“The syndicate would advertise its special massage services for men on social media as well as WhatsApp and Telegram groups.
“Customers could contact the phone number on the advertisements and the syndicate would share sexy photos of the male masseurs.
“Customers could then choose the masseur and massage packages,” he added.
The ‘daddy’ would then provide the location to customers once they had made their choice, Ruslin said.
“The massage packages were priced between RM200 and RM300 an hour.
“The syndicate is believed to have collected almost RM650,000 from massages and unnatural sex offered,” he added.
Those detained were brought to the Putrajaya Immigration depot.
“We also issued notices to seven local men, who were customers, to come forward and give their statements to assist with investigations.
“We will continue with such operations and urge those with information to contact the department,” he said.
