Driver dies, passenger cheats death after car bursts into flames following crash


KUALA LUMPUR: A fatal accident along Jalan Bukit Desa here killed one person after a car crashed into a road divider on Thursday (May 25) night.

In a statement Friday (May 26), Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the accident occured at 10.20pm on May 25.

"Investigations showed that the 31-year-old driver lost control while driving and crashed his vehicle into a road divider along Jalan Bukit Desa, leading to the vehicle catching fire.

"The driver died at the scene whereas the passenger, a Thai woman, suffered light injuries and has been sent to Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM) for treatment," he said.
