Proactive operations pay off


KUALA LUMPUR: Over RM1.7bil in contraband, animals and wildlife, as well as various controlled items, have been seized from January 2021 to April this year, according to the Internal Security and Public Order Department (KDNKA).

The department’s deputy director of the Wildlife Crime Bureau (WCB) and Intelligence and Special Investigations Senior Asst Comm Mohammad Azlin Sadari said last year, they made seizures amounting to RM540.2mil but in the first four months of this year, they have almost reached that sum with RM538.2mil in seizures recorded.
