Man shot dead near Sungai Jarom police station in Kuala Langat

KUALA LANGAT: A man was shot dead near the Sungai Jarom police station here on Thursday (May 18).

In a statement Friday (May 17), Kuala Langat OCPD Supt Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor @Saleh said that a volunteer policeman on sentry duty at 11.30pm Thursday heard several loud explosions near the police station.

“After heading towards the source of the noise he saw a bleeding man on the ground.

"The victim, a 39-year-old man with a criminal record with 13 prior offences, was found bleeding from the head.

“A medical officer from the Telok Panglima Garang clinic confirmed the victim's death at the scene,” he said.

Forensics officers located five bullet casings near the scene of the crime and checks on the body showed four gunshot wounds to the head.

The case is being investigated for murder.

“Efforts are underway to identity the suspect involved and the public is advised not to speculate on the matter, which could disrupt police investigations," Supt Ahmad Ridhwan said.
