INTERACTIVE: Coral reefs under threat

PETALING JAYA: Coral reefs in Malaysian waters are starting to see the onset of bleaching, a consequence of the intense heat and the rapidly warming ocean as El Nino looms.

Fisheries Department director-general Datuk Adnan Hussain said it had monitored reports from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Coral Watch Programme.
