Thanks for your dedication, contributions, Dr Wee tells educators on Teachers' Day

PETALING JAYA: Teachers are being honoured for their contributions in the field of academic and education on May 16, which is celebrated as Teachers' Day annually in Malaysia.

Among those who expressed their appreciation for educators was MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, who thanked teachers for their dedication.

"Thank you to all teachers for their guidance in teaching and imparting knowledge to us from a young age.

"Your contributions and sacrifices are meaningful and important in leading the younger generations to become individuals who are beneficial to nation building.

"Happy Teachers’ Day to all our beloved teachers!" the Ayer Hitam MP said in a post on his Facebook page on Tuesday (May 16) with the hashtags #SelamatHariGuru2023 and #TeachersDay2023.

Teachers' Day is celebrated on May 16 in Malaysia to commemorate the endorsement of the Razak Report, an educational proposal aimed at reforming the educational system in Malaya (now Malaysia).

This document has been the basis of the educational system in Malaya and eventually Malaysia ever since.
