Cops probing viral video of snatch theft incident in KL


PETALING JAYA: The police are investigating a 30-second video, which has since gone viral, showing a woman falling victim to a snatch thief.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai said checks revealed that the incident occurred at Jalan 2/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara, Off Jalan Ipoh, at 11.59am on Saturday (May 6).

"CCTV footage showed that the victim was walking at the side of the road when her handbag was snatched by a man riding a motorcycle.

"So far, no police report has been lodged on the incident," he said in a statement on Sunday (May 7).

ACP Beh urged the victim to come forward and lodge a police report as soon as possible.

"We also urge those with information on the incident to contact Sentul police at 03-4048 2222 or the nearest police station," he said.
