Abducted man in viral video found

ALOR SETAR: The 28-year-old man abducted in broad daylight has been found safe, say the police.

Kota Setar OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Shukri Mat Akhir said the motive for the abduction had yet to be determined.

“We have arrested three more suspects, making it a total of four for now,” he added.

“We arrested two men and a woman on Tuesday evening between 7pm and 9pm at three different locations in Changlun, Jitra and Alor Setar,” he said in a statement yesterday.

ACP Ahmad Shukri said the suspects were aged between 39 and 43 and three of them tested positive for methamphetamine.

“They will be remanded for six days,” he said.

A 41-second video clip of a man being carried and forcibly shoved into a car by five others went viral on Tuesday.

ACP Ahmad Shukri said the incident took place at around 6.30pm on Monday in front of a hotel in Shahab Perdana, Alor Setar. The victim’s father filed a report after watching the video.
